  • To promote and teach safe and ethical canyoneering.

The OCC has members who are involved in all aspects canyoneering, and various other outdoor sports. OCC members range from the occasional weekend canyoneer to those who attempt challenges from around the world. Each August the club hosts the annual Ouray Canyon Festival attracting canyoneers from across the country and around the world.

If you are new to canyoneering, the OCC offers beginner workshops with an emphasis on safety and self-rescue. Also offered by the OCC are workshops in knots, anchors, ropework, pothole-escape, rescue, and ethical canyoneering. If you already have canyoneering experience, join other members on some of our monthly outings - a great way to meet new friends and discover new canyons.
